It all started with a phone call.
It was the summer of 2008. Fourteen friends, a country farmhouse, and a shared challenge: to prevent degradation and abandonment from destroying the future of our land.
We joined together to rescue the historic Rinascita Winery, a property confiscated from criminals, from neglect and transform it into a bastion of legality. We chose to call ourselves Terre di Giafar, paying homage to Emir Giafar II—the “Lawrence the Magnificent” of Arab Sicily—who created a place of rest and splendor right here, in ancient Manzil-al-Giafar.
A fire of hope.
What began as a spark between 14 founders is now a solid and ambitious reality.
